Evolve Therapy Clinical Standards Overview

Our Clinical Standards

All therapy services are provided by licensed therapists and registered clinical interns with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school. All therapists work under the supervision of Liz Chelak, LCSW, CCTSI, CRPS.

All therapists utilized the Sovereign Body Method, the method developed by Liz Chelak to help individuals refine their nervous system for calm, grounded power. Liz hand-picked this trusted team to ensure each client is matched with the right therapist for them.

We employ approaches grounded in research, including somatic therapy, CBT, and EMDR. Our methods align with current clinical guidelines, and all therapists meet continuing education requirements for the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling.

Our Content and Educational Information

Educational content published by Evolve Therapy & Counseling is intended for general informational purposes related to mental health and well-being. This content is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment.

All educational material on this website is written and overseen by Liz Chelak, LCSW, CCTSI, CRPS, and is grounded in clinical research and professional experience. Content is reviewed periodically to support accuracy, clarity, and responsible presentation, and is updated as needed as clinical understanding evolves.

All content is presented with care for emotional safety and respect for the diverse experiences of readers.

Content Review Process

All factual claims are based on clinical studies and published research. Each piece is reviewed by Liz Chelak for ethical and legal compliance, ensuring no misleading information.

We also update articles as new research becomes available.

Clinical Qualifications & Oversight

All clinical services at Evolve Therapy & Counseling are provided by licensed mental health professionals and registered clinical interns who meet the education, training, and ethical standards required by the State of Florida. Our team includes clinicians licensed in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, and Marriage & Family Therapy, as well as registered interns practicing under supervision in accordance with Florida Board regulations.

Clinical oversight is provided by Liz Chelak, LCSW, CCTSI, CRPS, Founder and Clinical Director of Evolve Therapy & Counseling, in collaboration with other board-approved supervisors as required by licensure type. Supervision arrangements comply with Florida Board requirements for frequency, documentation, and scope, and are designed to support ethical, competent, and high-quality care.

All clinicians are carefully vetted prior to joining the practice and participate in ongoing supervision, consultation, and continuing education. While therapists are trained in the clinical frameworks and values of the practice, each clinician exercises independent professional judgment and tailors treatment to the individual needs of each client.

Therapeutic Methods & Clinical Judgment

Therapy at Evolve Therapy & Counseling is grounded in evidence-based practices and guided by clinical judgment, client collaboration, and informed consent. Clinicians draw from a range of therapeutic interventions that are appropriate to each client’s needs, goals, and preferences, and only use approaches that the client agrees to participate in. No single intervention or modality is required for all clients.

The Sovereign Body Method reflects the overall clinical approach of the practice rather than a specific intervention. It represents a way of applying therapeutic work with attention to nervous system regulation, embodiment, and integration, and may be incorporated when clinically appropriate. Not every client requires or engages with this approach, and its application is determined collaboratively within the therapeutic process.

All treatment plans are individualized and may evolve over time based on clinical need, client feedback, and professional judgment. Clinicians have full discretion to select, adapt, or change therapeutic approaches as clinically indicated. Therapy outcomes vary, and progress depends on many factors, including client participation and individual circumstances.

Client Care Philosophy

At Evolve Therapy & Counseling, client care is guided by a commitment to safety, respect, autonomy, and collaboration. We believe therapy is most effective when clients are supported in making their own choices, moving at an appropriate pace, and actively participating in their care. Our role is to create a thoughtful and grounded therapeutic environment where healing can occur—not to direct, pressure, or impose change.

An understanding of nervous system regulation, self-connection, and the development of embodied self-possession informs our work. While we are trauma-informed, our approach is not limited to trauma-specific treatment. Therapy may support a wide range of goals, including emotional regulation, personal growth, and a deeper connection to oneself, depending on each client’s needs and intentions.

Treatment is collaborative and individualized. Progress in therapy depends on many factors, including client participation, readiness, and external circumstances, and outcomes vary from person to person. We are committed to providing ethical, respectful, and inclusive care in both in-person and virtual settings, with a focus on maintaining emotional and physical safety at all times.

Confidentiality Overview

Protecting client privacy is a core ethical responsibility at Evolve Therapy & Counseling. Confidentiality applies to in-person and virtual sessions, as well as to written and electronic communications related to care. All services are provided in accordance with applicable privacy laws and HIPAA requirements.

Client information is kept confidential except in circumstances where disclosure is required or permitted by law. These circumstances may include concerns about serious risk of harm to the client or others, mandatory reporting of abuse or neglect, court orders or legal proceedings, or other situations in which clinicians have a legal duty to protect or warn.

Evolve Therapy & Counseling will not confirm or deny an individual’s participation in services without written authorization. Secure systems are used to maintain clinical records and protect client information. For a full description of privacy rights and practices, clients are encouraged to review our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Emergency & Crisis Limitations

Therapy services at Evolve Therapy & Counseling are provided on an outpatient basis and are not intended to replace emergency or crisis care. Clinicians are available only during scheduled sessions and do not provide on-call services. To maintain appropriate clinical boundaries, therapists do not share personal phone numbers or engage in clinical work outside of session.

If a client experiences a mental health emergency, is at risk of harming themselves or others, or requires immediate support, they are responsible for seeking urgent assistance through appropriate emergency resources. This may include calling 911 or contacting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Emergency support should be accessed immediately when safety concerns arise.
